Dry Stone Wall works

THC on the Berlin Ubahn.

THC for Schonleinstrasse U8

The exhibited series of images, 4 billboards, document the construction of a dry stonewall made in the English countryside, while artist in residence with VARC in a region called Tarset in the North of England, incorporating into this wall the tag and abbreviation for Tetrahydrocannibinol, THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. As a lazy bit of graffiti this often appears around Berlin and particularly around Kreuzberg and Neukolln. I took this as a symbol of Berlin, which I wanted to recreate in the very rural landscape of Northumberland, employing the traditional craft of dry stone walling. Once complete it was always the intention to somehow return it to its place of origin, to create a link and direct connection between these two dramatically different places, Berlin and Tarset, now twinned.
